An app to slash your phone bill

android_banner

Introducing to you Hoiio on Android - an app that helps you slash your phone bill.  Developed by a Singapore company, Hoiio is a callback service that provides an affordable means to call/text overseas.

Previously available only on the iPhone, Symbian and other mobile platforms, Hoiio is now released for Android too!

If you are looking for a solution to expensive IDD calls or cumbersome calling cards, look no further. Developed with the Google's almighty Android SDK, the developers from Teliwave have made its worth to create an app that makes calling/texting seamless, and inexpensive.

Let's look at how we could make a call from an Android phone.

Making a call

Select a contact from your address book, missed call list or key in the number directly. Either way, Hoiio will kick in and prompts you to use Hoiio.

1. Call your friend 2. Hoiio takes over 3. You receive an incoming call!

Note that you are no longer making an outgoing call, instead you will receive a free incoming call! Pick up the call and you will be connected to your friend.

Sending an SMS

Sending an SMS is as easy.

1. Text your friend 2. Select Hoiio SMS 3. Compose and send!

The cost of an SMS is 8.8 cents to anywhere in the world. Not great for local SMS, but definitely is for sending overseas.

And did we tell you your friend will see your mobile number, with no idea that you have used a phone-bill-slashing service?

To get Hoiio, open Market and install it today.

Cheating in Monopolycitystreets

MonopolycitystreetsCheating on the Internet is a common thing, since it usually cost nothing, and tools are easily available. Plus a lack of police-ing, cheating is wild.

I will be highlighting some ways that we could cheat in this new online game - monopolycitystreets.

But note that these methods do not only apply to MonopolyCittyStreets, but works for any Internet games/services that are vulnerable, so use wisely :)

1. Multiple accounts

This is a very common cheat - create as many feeding accounts, with one main account. The feeding accounts help the main account to grow with unfair advantage, such as selling the streets to main account at low price.

The trick to creating multiple accounts is the needed emails during registration. But this could be overcomed with temporary emails providers.

2. Tamper data

This is one of the trick I like best. It involves tampering with the HTTP POST data that your computer sends over to the game server. For example, you could change the price from $100,000 to $0!

The tool to do that is available as a Firefox Add-on. Nifty tool.

3. Autobot script

This is cool method to do things automatically. Software such as autohotkeys and iMacros for Firefox could help to move your mouse and press your keyboards while you are sleeping/drinking somewhere!

But, as of now, there is no benefit to use such autoscripting in Monopoly City Streets as there is nothing to gain by spending more time in the game. For MMORPG games such as WoW, it would be helpful.

Snow Leopard and integrity

love leaves Apple latest OS X 10.6, otherwise better known as Snow Leopard, is selling in a few flavors - $29 for single user upgrade, $59 for family pack upgrade and $169 for single user full boxed set.

But no matter which you buy, you get the same disc. You can install it over an existing Mac, or even over a Windows. You can install it once, or one hundred times. It doesn't matter.

Apple playing the software game in a modern way.

Apple has do away with license keys or other worthless preventive measures. It is now based on only EULA (license agreement) and your integrity.

Apple new policy: Reward honest people with a hassle-free product rather than trying to punish dishonest people by treating everyone like a criminal. Nice policy, I reckon.
